Hi all,

I really enjoyed having a crack at Nightbane last night. Seems ages since I have tried a boss that nobody in the group had tried before.

I thought we could start a thread for people to post any tactics they know of/think of.

As a starter, I have heard that if there is a hunter in the group, he can use Misdirect at the start to avoid someone getting splatted as Nightbane lands. I hear Zuthander is an expert with misdirection..... ;)

Any other comments or links?

You have to balance the benefit of hunters out, I'm of the belief that being useful for 5 seconds at the start of the fight doesn't out weigh the sheer dps benefit you'd get from sticking a mage or rogue in the slot. Especially as hunters will be useless for the grouped up fighting part.

Having said that sustained dps is required and I'm not sure how people were doing for mana for the fight and how we'd do for the full duration so possibly being so reliant on mana could be an issue.

Perfect setup:
1 tank
4 healers
4 rogues
1 lock - to be the token death

Maybe we could use the lock as cannon fodder to be 'landed on'? hehe

The 4 healer idea is definitely worth thinking about.
In one of the attempts last night, Gris went down to 48% which in itself was not a problem as Im sure all 3 healers were in the process of casting a heal, but the fear came along. All healers were feared, Gris resisted, Gris got pooned before we could recast.
I guess with 4 healers we have less likelihood of tank going below 50%, and more likelihood of a HoT being chucked on just before the fear.

On the whole I think we had the tactics pretty well nailed. We just need to avoid losing people early on. Group set up is the key i suppose.

I'm not sure if 4 healers is required. I didnt think that we had a problem in healing and keeping ppl up.

Most of the deaths in the attempts were mainly caused by having a big fuck off dragon sitting on them or not moving off the hot ground quick enough.

We can try with 4 healers, but I'd rather have the DPS tbh.
