a few of my mates have had it done and they say there is nothing to it :-)

we are made a bit tougher than you southern folk though :p

Good luck Sifty mate. Is it the new 'incision-less' technique or the original one where they rip your eyeballs in half with a big fuckoff scalpel? :shock:

Big FO scalpel mate. They have to create a flap in your cornea to laser the tissue underneath, in order to restore the shape of your eyeball. There is a process called Intralase where they can create the flap with the laser, which supposedly makes for quicker recovery with less discomfort but that costs an extra £300 per eye so bugger that.

T'internet has been down since early Monday morning (bloody BT). Had the op. Could see better immediately after the 15 minutes it took. Bit of pain afterwards but well worth it and not as bad as alluded to, especially as I get a week off work. Eyesight fluctuates a bit at the mo. Had eyes tested this morning and the right eye was brill. Now the left eye has come up trumps while the right eye has gone all hazy. Anyway, when my vison stablises I'll be well pleased.
