slicing is boring and very expensive..
apart from only getting a max of 5 slices per knife (a knife requires 16 pieces of metal)
Then you have mol clamps which are shockingly expensive and only lvl4 slicers can make them. Most people sell them for 1k per mol clamp (one use only)
Analazye Nodes are cheaper and u can make them at lvl2 however they require 50 units of metal I think (20 being copper) they only offer 75% of success
Then u have weapon upgrade kits, and armour upgrade kits which normally are 100cr each, but again are 1 use only.
So all in all, seeing that with the already competent slicers out there u cant really see any real money coming back until u hit slicer4 its a shockingly shit profession.
Im only continueing becasue im so close to being a lvl4 slicer (only 100 slices to go :E ) then i can charge proper prices but tbh no one can ever get mega rich as a slicer... there is too much equipment needed per slice. and the most u can charge is 100cr per 1%
My biggest complaint of the smuggler, is that the slicing is too random
I try and use good resources for my tools, I use clamps, but i cant offer any better slice then some bastard who uses shit in their tools.
And even as master smuggler u can get slices of 10%........... which i normally get as a lvl 3
its all quite shit really.
tbh Luke'l if ur mind is set on master smuggler then go for it.. but i think there are too many wastes in the smuggler trees... Underworld for instance... all that pistol xp for what??
the ability to sell faction points.. WTF has that got to do with pistols?
I am choosing to develop my pistoleer prof because the benefits for all that pistol xp is better employed.
Anyway once i hit lvl4 i can make mol clamps for you, im alreayd looking into setting up a factory, so as long as u can whack a bit of cash into it, we can save money that way, but apart form that its just a long grind im afraid.
bestine and AH are the best places to find business for containers. if there is a lot of competition then my best advice is just keep pimping. always chuck in special offers if you have anything to spare.. if u are xping in spice.. im sure if u chuck in a free jar of shadowpaw for each container u might make a few returning customers.
my biggest problem is my impatience with people (which is suprising due to my RL profession) so smuggling doesnt agree with me for that reason as well.
It fucks me off when some little shit brings me his comp armour (i of course warn him the risks of slicing) and then he moans and blames me if i slice 17% of encumberance and not effectiveness.
comes with the territory but i guess it just aint for me in the long run
I will stop waffling now
