Has anyone decided yet?

I'm not really diggin' the final epic armoursmith piece, and the axes and swords are simply awesome

I still am swordsmith ... what happens if I change to - lets say armorsmith? or to another weaponsmith specialisation?

oh, and I got my BS skill to 318 already with all the thorium I collected while gathering my 50 arcane crystals...

I'd say it all depends on what loot is available at the end. I don't see the point in working towards something when you'll replace it the next week with a drop so find out what swords, axes and armour are available and figure out which will be hardest to replace before you pick.

as far as I am concerned, blacksmithing only helped me in my young paladin days armor-wise.... all the weapons and the "better" plate gear has been a laugh so far... either the materials are insane or the stats more tank-like than dps-like (not to speak about mana/+heal --> non-existent)

what amuses me is that all the new craftable weapons are BoP

well i just found a 95dps polearm which costs about 50g from honor hold at revered.

i think the mats from what ive seen on thott for the armour/weapons are much less than before.

i mean look at the mail fel iron stuff with set bonus. All you need for that are fel iron bars. My hunter will love that.

Btw, what did you skill up on with thorium, I have about 300 of it in the bank.

I had about the same amount - I just put all my crafting stuff in my bags, went to the forge and crafted the red or yellow stuff which needed the fewest mats..... like the green plate dps-set (cant remember the name right now)... or thorium spikes... also did some of the fel iron stuff, as it doesnt need much stuff to craft it... again, thats rather a tanking than a dps-set

Pre-TBC recipes that required a different specialization (such as, uh... Arcanite Reaper (hooo!)) are availible to all blacksmiths, regardless of specialization. Post-TBC recipes that require a specialization will be lost if you switch from Axesmith to Swordsmith (for example).

Shittiest explanation I've done in quite a while, I think.

hmm, I have an idea.... stay swordsmith - make me [Uber Sword of Sexiness] and then change to axesmith and make me [Greater Battleaxe of Rockzorness].... that would be cool :wink:

looking on the specialisations I should go hammersmith rather than swordsmith.... very nice stats on maces.... only AP on axes.... swords seem to fit rogues better than palis.... hmm, now you make me think about it, curse you Inv

Swords, stunning gets you moaned at by the tanks.

Because stunning causes threat which is usually enough to get aggro of the tank and cause the tank to log out, just ask Trigger.

Axes are a no no imo
1-handed Sword looks lovely, but 2-hander looks like a beer bottle opener
Maces look very nice, but the 1-hander has no stats :/
