was thinking about purchasing this, and as £25 is quite a big splash out for me these days i was wondering if anyone had an opinion of it?

http://www.play.com/Games/PC/4-/672755/ ... oduct.html
is the version i was thinking of getting as it seems quite a good deal with the dawn of war chucked in for my small amount of cash.

advise on game quality and lifespan plz :D

No idea about the game as Cal is the best to advise on that but...

To save your pennies search for games here http://www.find-games.co.uk/

That site shows amazon have it £5 cheaper than play

im not really a fan of the splinter cell series, as you may have noticed from my WoW and css style, im not really one for sitting around waiting for stuff to happen, its far too slow for my liking, metal gear solid was the only game i ever really enjoyed which you had to take your time over.

cheers for the tip though neilee :) very handy for a poor student like myself

Tbh Macey this game is on par with Red Alert for enjoyment. Love playing the skirmish aswell which is class.

I still laugh when my soldiers are shouting at me to nade those fucking krauts. or shoot those nazi bastards. Its a damn fine game. One I would be happy to send you to you if you wanted for free :-) only need the cd for online play but you can use Hamachi to get around that.

Give me a shout when you decide.

Bought it yesterday as I cba to wait for cal to post me a hooky dvd. I also wanted to play it online against people so I thought I'd shell out on it.

Gotta say I am really impressed so far. Good immersive scripting before each mission explaining what accomplishing the mission achieved during the campaign and really nice effects. Being able to garrison and demolish houses is great fun as is the ability to set defensive fields of fire and ambush kill zones.

Really really enjoyable rts so far.

Added bonus (for anyone other than me) is the inclusion of Dawn of War GOTY edition free of charge, so you get dawn of war and the expansion winter assault for free....

If you've not played them, they're well worth a dabble - not quite as complex as COH but good solid fun with pretty explosions

Gets a royal slagging off in reviews, I've got NWN2 and I have to confess that this is great fun and works well for me as it's designed to be paused to set up the battles, whereas I use the pause to find out what the heck my son is up to.

EVE and NWN2 for the win for me atm for AFK gaming :)

Goose tell me when you want to play a skirmish mate. Me and throd and fudge and some others always playing against each other. although because a couple of them use hooky we use Hamachi to set up a game.

I notice that since you found out that I have the game you've not been online at all hardly.

Scared of my prowess no doubt.
