Greetings!
Nary a month has yet passed and already I bring you the second huge
piece of news from Codemasters

What is this news? Although you probably already know from the
subject line, I shall attempt to create an atmosphere of suspense as
I eke this sentence out as long as possible? The fantastic news is
that our friends at Turbine have selected us to be the European
operating partners for Dungeons & DragonsĀ® Online: Stormreach? (DDO)!
http://www.codemasters.com/ddoWhat does this mean? It means that Codemasters will be responsible
for the operation of the European service of Dungeons & Dragons
Online (DDO), to include the servers, billing and customer support.
An all-new, in-depth website is currently being developed which will
be launched in the very near future. This consolidated portal will
serve as the central hub for our Dungeons & Dragons Online
community and will be your primary source of all things DDO!
For those of you that were wondering what I was up to, now I can tell
you: I will be the Codemasters community manager for this title and
will be working in close conjunction with the folks from Turbine;
Calandryll, Sporkfire, Xundau and Samera, so you'll all be very well
looked after.
What's DDO? If you are new to Dungeons & Dragons Online, here's a
brief overview taken from Turbine's FAQ;
Dungeons & DragonsĀ® Online: Stormreach? (DDO) is a fun, action-packed,
massively- multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) that allows
thousands of players to participate in a story-driven D&D campaign.
DDO features swashbuckling adventures, betrayal and intrigue, and
lots and lots of deep, dark, dangerous, trap-riddled dungeons.
What can you tell me about Dungeons & Dragons?
Dungeons & Dragons is the granddaddy of all traditional pencil-and-
paper (PnP) roleplaying games.
Is Wizards of the Coast involved?
Yes. We are working closely with Wizards of the Coast, the author and
publisher of the most recent edition of Dungeons & Dragons, to ensure
that DDO is a faithful online representation of D&D. The folks at
Wizards of the Coast regularly help us with our design and
development questions, in addition to participating in a formal
review process of our work.
For further information, be sure to visit
www.ddo.com and to
participate in the community discussions head on over to our brand
new DDO forums. As soon as the new website is ready, I'll let you all
know!
