Lo all

I think we need to discuss this shit in here - away from prying eyes so we don't have to worry about anyone's feelings.

Personally, I have been expecting something along those lines to be said for a while. For new members it is fuckin hard breaking 'into' our clique cos we set ourselves up almost as a self sufficient unit that don't need to go outside of our little rtcw expat enclave.

Now I have nothing against this, in fact I LIKE it this way, I have my friends who I know I can trust, talk to and have a laugh with. I see no need to go and make more friends and whilst I am happy to talk to other people I really don't care whether they see me as inclusionist or not.

however, we can't run a guild like that and Highn's post has raised a number of issues that sooner or later we do need to face.

Sooner or later we need to respond and review the current way we do things and maybe change them so that they are a bit more opaque to members or we need to close up and say for better or worse this is it. If we close up I think we will have problems further on down the line, if we don't close up I think we will need to adopt some of the ideas that Highn has taken the time to suggest.

Either way I am glad to see one of the newer members actually interested in making the step up and putting something back into the guild.

Simon

well like i said on Highn's post i will make a notepad file with a welcoming emial which i can copy/paste into game for new members, that at least will cover us for most things, I will copy it here so people can check it first.

Tbh though i feel a bit peeved by highn's post, out of all the new members he has been the one who has fitted in so well, guess im not as perceptive as i try and make out.

I think its cos he has fitted in so well that he has said it

I don't think the other new members feel that they can say anything yet. Like I said sooner or later this was gonna be said imo

I am in crisis yet again - its fuckin horrid going from pwner in pve to pwnee :)

I can't do shit until I get some of the boxes of either pistoleer, carbineer or rifleman and I don't know which I should do! :)

I kinda like it the way it is organized now. We saw the same shit happen in Neocron where we grew too big too handle things. The result was a split up where us "founders" founded a new clan "The Founders".

I like to think of us as a small bunch of friends just doing our stuff in a loosely organized way. New faces are always welcome but it takes time to get to know each other and learn to trust each other. You don't get that with two weeks knowing each other from playing SWG.

If I can join a hunt now and then or do some PvP with you guys I'm more than happy. I'm just playing SWG to have a good laugh. Of course I get a proud feeling when we get recognition but that isn't my number 1 priority. If we wanna grow as a PA, then that's fine with me, but grow slow and don't get ambitious to get big quick. I'm open to new ideas, also from new members, but I'm a conservative bitch also. See my first sentence.

Do Pistoleer m8, then I can train you. I've been pimping myself for an hour long during lunch as a trainer and got ZERO ap. :( Maybe I was just unlucky but I have a cunning plan.....this evening I'm going to stand next to the Pistoleer trainer in Tyrenna and steal his customers away. :)

Go get Music 1 from entertainer then you can cap your AP by training me in it many times over. It takes 30mins max to get music 1.

*delete n start again*

I feel we are doing ok as we are. we arent a pimping guild for either city residents or guild members and in being like that we avoid getting a lot more knobs then we already have.. tbh only having 2 is a good thing.

A new member email is a good idea stating rules/regs etc, forum url and also i think that it should mention that they are only on trial membership (a month should do) during which time all parties can go their seperate ways.

we shouldnt close our doors to new guild members full stop but keep it as it is. ie. if they show an interest then cool we give em a chance.

The other thing we should as a guild be doing now is communicating with other rebel guilds. ok we are but a small band of rag tag troops but as shown last night we can be bloody effective in pvp. so rather than go it alone we should be trying to involve ourselves with larger rebel movements.

I will setup a "guild application" forum if someone wants to create a welcome thread in there and also a few questions they need to answer. That way any new member will have to reg on the forums and basically tell us what they are bringing to us.
eg. 1) What class/skills
2) What do want from the game
etc etc.

DP have a good post we could draw on.

http://dpforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=86

the only other thing i think we should be doing is not making the trade between ourselves so noticable in guild chat. I have no problem making you guys clothing as you helped me out when lvling and also still give me minerals etc but tbh im getting fucked off with newer guild members giving me a long order for clothing and expecting it all for free..

the only other thing i wanna say is lets not let this guild go the same way as beta.
